Vienna Instruments Collections

(Powered by the Vienna Instruments Player)

The most powerful Virtual Instruments on the market, embody intelligent Performance Algorithms into an easy-to-use VST/AU/AAX plug-in to orchestrate an inconceivably vast array of samples. For the first time hundreds of inspiring articulations can be combined in one Preset and on a single MIDI track. Vienna's proprietary Performance Detection analyzes intervals, repeated notes, patterns, and even playing speed in real-time, and automatically summons the appropriate articulation or nuance.

The World's Largest Orchestral Sample Database

The products of the VIENNA INSTRUMENTS SERIES were recorded in the relatively dry environment of our Silent Stage and are available individually or in specially priced bundles in the categories of STRINGS, WINDS, PERCUSSION, KEYBOARDS, VOICES and PLUCKED. The VI SUPER PACKAGE includes all products of these categories combined. With its unsurpassed number of over 2.8 million pristine sound recordings, this tour de force is by far the largest compilation of orchestral samples on the planet.

You can use Vienna Instruments on your Mac or PC in three ways:

  • As a plug-in in our mixing and host software Vienna Ensemble (or another host application)
  • As a plug-in in your sequencer – e.g., Cubase, Logic, Digital Performer, Pro Tools etc. – or notation software (e.g., Sibelius, Finale, Notion)
  • As a simple stand-alone application.

Vienna Instruments are virtual instruments that integrate the pristine samples recorded at Vienna's Silent Stage with our powerful and flexible sample playback engine, the Vienna Instruments player. You can use Vienna Instruments under Windows and Mac OS X as VST, AU and AAX Native plug-ins in your DAW or as stand-alone applications.

VI Series library products consist of two components, the free Vienna Instruments sample player and a Vienna Instruments Collection (the sample data).

With the free Vienna Instruments sample player you can combine an inconceivable amount of articulations on one MIDI channel. The player’s intelligent Performance Detection helps you call up the articulations you want in real-time to create realistic instrument performances. The mixing host Vienna Ensemble is installed automatically with the Vienna Instruments player software, and is available for free with any Vienna Instrument (VI) library purchase. Please note that the Pro versions of these products (Vienna Ensemble Pro and Vienna Instruments Pro) are different products with additional features.

Vienna's library products are built around Vienna Instruments Collections that comprise several instruments and/or instrument groups (ensembles). The included instruments and ensembles are available separately, and you may also purchase multiple Collections in a category as Bundles at a reduced price.

The Vienna Special Editions are a special product category. These are all-in-one orchestra packages at entry-level prices.
